D’Angelo Caffè & Gastronomia: Reviews & Ratings
This place is a gem! The food and coffee was delicious, but what's more the staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, generous, and kind. I have a dairy allergy and wanted a cappuccino in the afternoon! As a jetlagged English speaker I was welcomed and nourished. I will return soon!
Early morning in Rome means one thing: an espresso-fueled stroll. We started our day at the bustling D'Angelo Caffè & Gastronomia, a true local spot. The air was thick with the aroma of coffee and freshly baked goods, and the energy was infectious. We discovered D'Angelo Caffè strolling around the neighborhood. We savored a breakfast of delicious pastries, a perfectly crafted marocchino, and a creamy caffe latte alongside a glass of fresh orange juice. It was the perfect pre-adventure ritual. The staff was so friendly to recommend a glass of fresh orange juice with our breakfast. It was incredibly refreshing! When you are Rome, come by D'Angelo Caffè & Gastronomia, you won't be disappointed.
The food here was absolutely amazing! Towards the end of my trip to Italy, I wanted to eat not only bread but also vegetables, so I was looking for a cafe and came across this wonderful shop. When the waiter realized we were Japanese, he wrote "Roma" in Japanese on our cappuccino, which made us feel very warm inside. It's a place where locals come for breakfast, so I recommend not staying too long and just having a quick meal before leaving.
We stopped at this cafe every day during our time in Rome. We had a variety of pastries but our favourite was the danish. The coffee is great here, which is coming from a couple of Aussies who love their coffee. The service is exceptional, despite the cafe not being overly big and being quite busy, they worked quickly to make space and clear away plates etc. Highly recommend going before 10 am if you want a bigger selection of pastries though as they do get busy. Shout out to Massimo for being so attentive as well and making us feel welcome.
Hubby found this place and it turned out to be as good as all the Google reviews we read. Love the warm cooked food selection and Italian bread. Sooooo yummy. Staff was extra friendly and helpful. Will defo come again.
If you are looking for an authentic Roman breakfast or a high-quality, no-nonsense lunch near the Ministry of Economy or Piazza della Repubblica, D’Angelo Caffè & Gastronomia is an absolute gem that you cannot miss. Located on the busy Via Venti Settembre, this spot manages to balance the hustle of a city center coffee bar with the genuine warmth of Neapolitan hospitality. The Atmosphere Stepping inside, you are immediately greeted by the intoxicating aroma of freshly ground espresso and baked goods. The vibe is electric—typical of a beloved local "bar" where office workers stand at the counter for a quick shot of caffeine. Despite the morning rush, the staff are remarkably friendly, efficient, and welcoming, often greeting regulars by name and switching effortlessly between Italian and English for tourists. The Food & Coffee The star of the show here is undoubtedly the pastry selection. Their pistachio croissant is legendary—flaky, buttery, and filled with a generous amount of rich, nutty cream that isn't overly sweet. Pair it with a creamy marocchino or a robust cappuccino for the perfect Italian start to the day. For lunch, the "Gastronomia" side shines. They offer a fantastic array of hot and cold dishes displayed behind the glass, from fresh seasonal vegetables and lasagna to customizable panini. Being able to choose your own bread and fresh ingredients (like prosciutto, mozzarella, and grilled veggies) for around €5 is an incredible value in this part of Rome. Verdict D’Angelo isn't just a tourist stop; it’s a daily ritual for locals. Whether you need a quick energy boost or a savory lunch that tastes homemade, this place delivers consistent quality with a smile. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to taste the "real" Rome.
It was such an amazing experience. We were struggling finding a place to have a brunch on a sunday in December. We finally ended into this pub and it was absolutely great. The staff was very warm and nice (speaking french and a relative good english). The food was ok and the place very chill and help us relax :)
The paninis were incredibly fragrant, chocolate pastry super moist with a crackly outer layer, and the cappuccinos were delicious. Most notable were the excellent kind & friendly staff! 커피에 태극기까지 그려주시는 센스
